Photos

Here’s a selection of photos I have taken since 2005, when I started my Ph.D. studies at Brown. The focus here is on nature, buildings, and people. Being a cash strapped student I only employed various point-and-shoot cameras I owned over the years, playing with their settings as much as possible in order to get the right colors, texture, etc.. Although SLR’s allow far more control, so that getting the picture right is in your hands, point-and-shoot cameras impose the difficulty of getting what you want with their limited capabilities. One might consider photos taken by point-and-shoot as unprofessional and a cheat, but I think that this added difficulty gives an artistic value to a good photo.
